Scenario: We are restructuring our work unit set up which will result in new work units being created to replace the existing. We will have jobs in the system where the old work units are defined in the routings as well as new jobs that have the new work units defined. How can we manage this? Solution(s): Once you are have run the option to import new work units from the home menu, an automatic mapping will be created between the work unit in Enterprise Resource Planning and the work unit created in Visual APS. In the majority of cases work unit mappings do not require any reconfiguration. However there may be situations where the company wishes to maintain a different organisational structure of work centres/work units within Visual APS. Old work units can be mapped to replacement work units to allow all operations, irrespective of the routing, to be scheduled according to the new work unit requirements. Using the following example where MBBA02 is replacing MBBA01
After creating the new work unit mapping, operations for MBBA01 and MBBA02 can be scheduled to work unit MBBA02 only. Reverse the above if you decide to remove the mapping.
