Consider what validation rules can be implemented to minimize the need for transactions to be edited.

Problem:

I want to be able to control who can edit transactions, those that cannot edit should still be able to read only the transaction review. In addition to this is there a way to disable the ability for anyone to edit certain types of transactions?

Solution(s):

You can now control who has permissions to edit transactions in seat maintenance. A new right within Seat Management has been added to allow full Transaction Management access has been added.  Users without this right will now have view only access to Transaction Review, Timesheet, Management Report/Adjustments and Production Issues. Upon upgrade, all roles which were originally granted the Transaction Review right, will automatically be granted the new right. The below instructs detail how to add or remove permissions to add transactions for groups.

  1. Select Seat maintenance
  2. Select Rights
  3. Locate Transaction Management from the workforce Functional area
  4. Use the arrow to expand to view roles with this right
  5. To edit check this row and select edit
  6.  Check or uncheck Roles accordingly
  7. Select Save
  8. Select Save

Note: ensure that the roles are associated with the correct groups for this change to take effect.

In addition to this you also have the ability to define which types of transactions can be edited by those with permission. Follow the below steps to amend this.

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select advanced Settings
  3. Select Permissions
  4. Check or uncheck accordingly
  5. Select Save
