Scheduling Method

Indicates the default scheduling method when manually and automatically scheduling

  • Forward scheduling means the scheduling process will start from a selected date, irrespective of when the order is due
  • Backward scheduling means the scheduling process will be completed one day before the due date

Forward From

Indicates which date to schedule forward from

Backward From

Indicates which date to schedule backward from

Sequence By

Indicates the sequence of scheduling

  • Grid grouping uses the sequence the job orders appear in the scheduling grid to schedule them in order.
  • Priority index uses a priority field in the scheduling to represent the order in which jobs are scheduled.

Link Jobs

Indicates whether auto scheduling should simulate the behaviour of sub jobs, whereby the scheduler can manually define which jobs must be completed before subsequent jobs can commence.  For example, sub-assemblies must be completed before the parent good.  The default link jobs settings relate to the create dependency settings and work in conjunction with either the ‘Priority Index’ or ‘Grid Grouping’ logic as part of Autoscheduling.

From Date

Indicates whether the schedule from date uses a specified date or the job order date when scheduled.

Indicates the preferences for scheduling

  • Schedule (Critical) will schedule jobs irrespective of whether the due date can be met using all available resources
  • Schedule (Primary) will schedule jobs irrespective of whether the due date can be met with priority of primary machine first and alternatives second
  • Schedule (Alternatives) will schedule jobs irrespective of whether the due date can be met with priority of alternative machines first and primary machines second
  • Due Date (Critical) will schedule jobs only when the due date can be met using all available resources
  • Due Date (Primary) will schedule jobs only when the due date can be met with priority of primary machine first and alternatives second
  • Due Date (Alternatives) will schedule jobs only when the due date can be met with priority of alternative machines first and primary machine second
