Scenario:

We are trying to minimize the time in which employees spend walking to and from terminals to start and stop tasks. This is particularly the case when a set up task may only take a couple of minutes to complete. Are we able to start set up and run tasks at the same time? If so what happens to the hours?

Solution(s):

You can indeed both start and stop set up and run tasks at the same time to minimize the time employees spend reporting. We can then manage how this time is split accordingly.

There are two settings we need to review to enable this; enable Multi-jobbing and Split time by settings. You will need to check this for each element that employees use to start tasks (Add Task, Workbench, Barcode entry) The below steps detail how this can be completed for the 3 different types of elements.

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Advanced Settings
  3. Locate  Add tasks element
  4. Check & select Edit
  5. Select Setting next to Task(s) Selection
  6. Amend accordingly
  7. Select Save
  8. Select Save

Repeat for each Add Tasks element

The following steps detail how to check this for the work bench element(s)

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Advanced Settings
  3. Locate  Workbench (Employee)
  4. Check & select Edit
  5. Select Setting next to Scheduled Tasks
  6. Amend settings under Job list accordingly
  7. Select Save
  8. Select Save

Repeat for each workbench element

The following steps detail how to check this for the barcode(s) entry element(s)

  1. Select Settings
  2. Select Advanced Settings
  3. Locate  Workbench (Employee)
  4. Check & select Edit
  5. Select Setting next to Barcode Selection
  6. Amend settings under Job accordingly - Note there is no need to enable Multi jobbing on this element
  7. Select Save
  8. Select Save
