Scenario: An operation requires one resource to complete, as defined in the routing. I have an urgent order that we need to complete as quickly as possible and would like to use 4 resources to complete this in a quarter of the time. This is a one off and therefore changing the routing in the ERP system is not the best solution. How can I do this in APS? Solution(s): There are many scenarios that require manual intervention to achieve the most effective production plan and meet your customers' needs. APS by default will read the routing directly from the ERP system including the number of required resources. We can however intervene .The Float Resource function can be used to manage resource consumption. This can be done on a work unit level or on the fly to reflect ever changing requirements.
