Process Data Settings
The process data setting does not affect the accuracy of data collection. It merely provides the ability to choose at which trigger points transactions will be generated.

LYNQ can be configured to create transactions at different trigger points.  By default the Workbench is designed to create transactions upon stopping and reporting a task.  The decision when to generate transactions will determine the volume of transactions created and posted to Enterprise Resource Planning.  Often transaction volumes are significant which means that careful consideration needs to be given to the review process to make it both effective and practical. Events generated from the Workbench are converted to transactions typically every minute.

The process data setting against the On Screen Element, determine what types of transactions are generated/processed when the operator selects the button on the workbench.  The settings can be enabled for all transaction types, selective transaction types or no transaction types.  Therefore providing flexibility on the frequency when transactions are generated within the data collection process.  If the process data function is not included for the On Screen Element, no processing happens when the on screen element is selected from the workbench.

For example, let's assume an operator is working an 8 hour shift.  The operator arrives at the factory at 9:00 and leaves at 17:00 and goes to lunch for 1 hour at 12:30.  During this time the operator is working on Job Order 123 for the entire day.

You expect LYNQ to capture:

  • 7 hours productive labour against Job Order 123
  • 1 hour non-productive time for lunch

The process data setting is enabled for the Lunch On Screen Element.  LYNQ will generate the following transactions.

  • 3.5 hours productive labour against Job Order 123
  • 1 hour non-productive time for lunch
  • 3.5 hours productive labour against Job Order 123

Therefore increasing the frequency when transactions are generated.

To configure the Process Data settings:

  1. Select Terminal Maintenance
  2. Select the Terminal
  3. Select the desired On Screen Element (i.e lunch)
  4. Select Settings in the Process Data Row
  5. Select which types of transactions should be generated
