Managing equipment breakdown in Visual APS

If equipment breakdown occurs when a job order is running, depending on the terminal settings, the job order may continue to be displayed in the workbench.

When equipment breakdown occurs the production plan may need to be updated, to reflect the impact of downtime.  Depending on the duration of the breakdown the planner may need to consider:
 

• Adding a maintenance activity to the shift for the equipment involved for the duration of downtime
• Creating an alternative work unit group if there are other work units that can perform the same task
• Rescheduling the tasks that cannot be completed further into the future
• Rescheduling the tasks that cannot be completed to an alternative work unit.
• Unscheduling the tasks that cannot be completed
