Definition management deals with the rules to produce a product. In the Data Flow diagram below notice how Definition Management flows into detailed scheduling, dispatching, performance analysis and execution management. The product definition is associated to the job order. The job order will show all the tasks, materials, and equipment that will be used in the manufacture of the product. If the material is made from many separate items, a bill of materials will ascertain what items will be needed during the manufacturing process.
