Top Tips

Remember if you change any master data, such as removing set up time in your ERP System, APS will need to be refreshed for the change to be visible.

Problem:

Operations include set up time, I no longer want to schedule this some or all of the time. Can I manage this within APS or do I have to change the routings?

Solution(s):

  • You can disable the scheduling of set up time across the board in the APS settings. Use the following steps to amend the default setting for scheduling set up time.

1. Open APS setting from the Schedule tab

2. Select the Routing Tab

3. Under set up check or uncheck Use Set up time

4. Select Save

  • If your requirements to schedule set up time are variable this can also be amended on the fly

1.  Select the schedule tab

2 . In the Rules section check or uncheck use set up time as required

  • When using the Autoschedule functionality whether or not set up time is scheduled will be dependent on your current setting within the schedule tab. You also have the option to deviate away from this on the fly from the auto schedule window.

1. Select Autoschedule as per your normal process

2. Use the pull down arrow , top center, to reveal additional options

3. Check or uncheck Use set up time accordingly

4. Continue to Autoschedule as normal

The default settings in APS are designed to accurately reflect the routing in your ERP system.  APS includes a number of settings that allow you to deviate away from this. These include the ability to enable or disable scheduling different task types within operations as well as whether or not resources are consumed during different task types.
