Visual APS will read the definition of the job order from Enterprise Resource Planning.  Job orders appear in the task panel depending upon the job import rules defined.  For example, Enterprise Resource Planning may maintain a different status field to classify whether a job order is released or confirmed.  Visual APS can be configured to include or exclude job orders based on status.  The status codes you see in Visual APS will match the different Job status codes from Enterprise Resource Planning and may differ to the image below.

To configure Job Import Rules:

  1. Open Visual APS
  2. Click on the Manage Menu
  3. Click on Job Settings
  4. In Edit Settings window, click on Job Import & Rules
  5. Click on the Production Tab
  6. Select the status types to include/exclude

Ability to import job orders by a custom code, provides flexibility in cases when only jobs should be imported where they meet specific selection criteria based on custom fields (user-defined fields or custom form fields) i.e. colour, shape, area, etc).  To enable import by a custom code, the statuscode2 field in the LYNQ_SourceProductionOrderView SQL View in the Enterprise Resource Planning database must be mapped to the desired conditional field.  In the example above, statuscode2 is mapped to the job order hold flag.  Visual APS is configured to import job orders where the Hold Flag is equal to N.  The statuscode2 field on the SQL view can be mapped to any value.

If a Job Order is created in Enterprise Resource Planning whilst Visual APS is in use, the data in Visual APS must be refreshed first.  Job orders, may be read directly into Visual APS or via API.  The ERP Integration Processing Type setting determines how data is read into Visual APS.

To check the Integration Processing Type:

  1. Open Visual APS
  2. Click on the Manage Menu
  3. Click on Job Settings
  4. In Edit Settings window, Click on Integration
  5. Check the value in the ERP Integration field
