Default Mapping
Immediately after import of work units you will see a one to one mapping between Visual APS and Enterprise Resource Planning.
Once you are have run the option to import work units from the home menu, an automatic mapping will be created between the work unit in Enterprise Resource Planning and the work unit created in Visual APS. In the majority of cases work unit mappings do not require any reconfiguration. However there may be situations where the company wishes to maintain a different organisational structure of work centres/work units within Visual APS.
Using the following example where there are 4 work units, MBBA01, MBBA02, MBFA01, MBFA02 located within work centres MBBA and MBFA. The company would prefer to consolidate all 4 work units into work unit MBFA01 in the MBFA work centre.
To amend the default mapping of work units
From the home menu in Visual APS and select the Mapping command
Click on the + sign next to the work unit MBFA01
Place a check mark next to all work units you wish to group together MBBA01, MBBA02, MBFA01, MBFA02
Select OK
In the Un-schedule options dialogue box, indicate what to do with orders that are affected by your change
Select the Home Menu
Select Alternatives
After creating the new work unit mapping, operations for MBBA01, MBBA02 and MBFA02 can be scheduled to work unit MBFA01. Reverse the above if you decide to remove the mapping.
